OVERVIEW
St. Matthew's is a busy, happy place where each child finds success each day.
Children learn best in an atmosphere of warmth and vitality, through a wealth
of experiences. A consistent daily routine provides the comfortable predictability
important to young children.

Flexibility within that routine supports optimal learning. Within its developmentally
appropriate curriculum, the child's interests and needs
guide the teacher's plans. Teaching begins where the child is, leading
and supporting each one to increased competence and independence.
Children acquire skills through both teacher directed and child-initiated experiences. The curiosity and natural learning ability of each child is stimulated through field trips, projects, music and movement, creative arts, experiences with science
and math, literature and literacy.
Relationships with caring and responsive adults help nurture a sense of trust and respect for others. St. Matthew's seeks to lay a foundation for success in a complex and changing world by inspiring an enthusiasm for learning and an awareness of the unique value of each person as a child of God in a
caring community.
